Voyager/General

Requirement 1

Be a teenager 14 years of age, and/or in grade 9 or its equivalent.

The Voyager level has been designed to be within reach of a person in the ninth grade or higher. It should be challenging, yet achievable for a child at this point in his or her formal education.

Requirement 2

Through memorization and discussion, explain the meaning of the Adventist Youth Pledge.

The AY Pledge says: "Loving the Lord Jesus, I promise to take an active part in the Youth Ministry of our church, doing what I can to help others and to finish the work of the gospel in all the world."

Thoughts to get you started: The major parts of the AY Pledge cover your relationship to Jesus Christ, responsibility to support the work of His Church, to show love for His children, and follow the Great Commission.

Jesus said "Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself."

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you."

Requirement 3

Be an active member of Pathfinders.

The requirement to be an active member of the club is easy to brush over, but consider what it means. An active member is a youth that participates in the spiritual, mental, physical and service activities. It means showing up for meetings and completing the classwork and honors expected. It means following the Pathfinder Law and being a good representative of the club.

Requirement 4

Select and read three books of your choice from the Teen Book Club list.

The book club reading list is regularly updated with new books released by Adventist publishing houses. Check with your conference youth department or see here
