1. Prepare soil, fertilize, and plant a vegetable plot of not less than 100 square feet (30.5 square meters (sic)). Grow at least six different vegetables, three from seeds and three from seedlings, through harvesting.
First, you should note that there is an error in the metric conversion in this requirement. Although 100 linear feet equals 30.5 linear meters, 100 square feet does not equal 30.5 square meters. The easiest way to imagine a plot of ground that is 100 square meters is to envision a 10-foot by 10-foot plot. Ten times ten is 100, and thus we get 100 square feet. The same plot of ground would be about 3.05 meters by 3.05 meters (because 10 feet is about 3.05 meters). To get the number of square meters, we multiply 3.05 by 3.05, which is about 9.3 square meters.
