Talk:Adventist Youth Honors Answer Book/Covid

From Pathfinder Wiki

How to Use

This page builds an index of all the honor pages that are in Category:Adventist Youth Honors Answer Book/Do at home. If you find an honor that you think can be done at home and would like to add it to this list, just add the text below to the end of the honor:

[[Category:Adventist Youth Honors Answer Book/Do at home|{{SUBPAGENAME}}]]

If you need to point out how a person can meet a requirement at home, just add the covid template where you'd like the tip to appear:

{{covid|tip=This is the tip for meeting a requirement at home}}

If you add this template to an honor, the page will automatically be added to the index and you will not need to manually add Category:Adventist Youth Honors Answer Book/Do at home to the page. Honors that use the covid template will also be added to Category:Adventist Youth Honors Answer Book/Covid Tips.

Development Discussions

I copied the Honor_Index template to Honor_index2 (which we normally use for development), and then removed the cache directives from it. The idea there is that we'd like to see the index updated immediately without waiting for a cache refresh in 24 hours.

We might want to remove the caching from the main honor_index template too since it was added when we had a much slower host, and it seems to cause more problems than it solves.

I think that's the way to go. The site does run much faster now. --w126jep (talk) 19:10, 4 April 2020 (EDT)
Done. Let's keep an eye on things though in case that breaks something (or we find that the speed has dropped considerably). --Jomegat (talk) 19:26, 4 April 2020 (EDT)

Translations

I don't know that our translation extensions support Sitenotice. If not, we could add the translation directly to the notice. Since we don't have a lot of content outside of English & Spanish, and since we expect this to be temporary, I think that might be the easiest and most effective way forward. --Jomegat (talk) 13:36, 18 April 2020 (EDT)

I just added it directly. This is the same as I did in the Wikibooks notice about the site move. -- w126jep (talk) 18:21, 18 April 2020 (EDT)
