--w126jep (talk) 22:47, 6 April 2018 (EDT)

Requirements with more than one question

Marc3, I like the way you handled the answers to the requirements that have two questions in them, like #3a. You keep the requirement together, but repeat the specific questions as part of the answer. I personally never liked the whole more than one question to a requirement, specifically because of things like formatting them in the Wiki. I think it would be worthwhile to go through other honors and lay out their as you have done here, if their requirements have more than one question to it. --w126jep (talk) 22:42, 6 April 2018 (EDT)

Age of the earth

The Seventh-day Adventist church has written an official statement regarding Creation as the Biblical worldview it accepts. Although not intrinsically linked, a young earth model is typically associated with the belief of Creation.

There are several places within the Spanish side of this honor, and a few on the English side, that make references to the age of the earth and use typical old earth views, which are usually associated with evolutionist perspectives. This can be seen in certain parts throughout #3.

This honor really deals with dinosaurs, fossils, how they might have lived, and how they are classified. Since the Creationism and Fossils honors already open the door to this line of questioning for the age of the earth, I would highly and strongly recommend we take out any mention or reference of time or when the dinosaurs lived. It is not a necessary component of this particular honor and, I assume, done so on purpose.

I would really hate the idea of a Pathfinder seeking out truth to see the ages of the earth typically accepted by evolutionists and jump to erroneous conclusions--w126jep (talk) 21:37, 16 April 2018 (EDT)

I agree ... it would be better to omit the mention of millions of years lapses, however I think we could keep the name of the geological strata where the species have been found (this should be independent of its evolutionary interpretation, scientifically correct and at the same time not contradict the creationist statement of our church). I have to admit that I would still feel uneasy leaving the names of the strata. These names almost by definition imply millions of years.
I also am uneasy with 3d and the graphic there. The last part of the answer is to say that sauropods were dominant in their time, but doesn't directly relate to the question. The graphic seems to be representing this last part. Normally, having such extra info like this is great, but again, it just makes me uneasy.
I 'll get over it, however, if you think it really does contribute to the answer in a meaningful way.. --w126jep (talk) 18:56, 18 April 2018 (EDT)
