Important Note about Patch

This honor is a regional honor approved by the Florida Conference. To obtain the honor patch you must contact the Florida Conference at http://www.flpathfinderstore.com/

Notes

The patch is designed so that you can add one star to the flag for every state you study for the honor.

The answers to the State Study honor vary for each State. To keep from cluttering up the answers with all these variants, we instead provide separate answer chapters for each.

Useful resources for all States include:

  1. http://www.nadadventist.org/article/55/directory/find-a-church - search the state and count up the churchesm subtracting any inactive ones. This cuts across the problem of multiple conferences in a state, and multiple states in a conference.
  2. http://www.nadadventist.org/article/56/directory/find-a-school - lists of schools, colleges and universities
  3. http://www.adventistdirectory.org/FindByType.aspx?EntityType=M for searching hospitals by state
  4. http://www.adventistdirectory.org/ViewAdmField.aspx?AdmFieldID=NAD for searching Conference information. Don't forget many states have several conferences (including Regional), which may or may not have their office inside the state. Work carefully.
  5. http://www.attractionsofamerica.com/ a commercial site delivering exactly what the name says.
  6. http://www.nps.gov/findapark/index.htm choose "by location" than your state. Note that not all National Parks are called National Parks. They may be called Mounuments, Historical Parks etc but are still operated by the National Park Service.
  7. You could write to the states's tourism office for the parks and places to visit pamphlets for your scrap book, but with a little searching you could also print them from the internet.
