3. Explore a canyon not listed with track notes in a guide book. Make a canyon topo of the canyon you explore.

4. Demonstrate how to set up ropes for abseiling in a canyon with existing anchors.

5. Know the procedure for jumping safely. What must you always do before jumping? Perform a jump in a canyon of 4 meters.

6. Demonstrate the use of ghosting techniques such as the fiddlestick method or pull down sling.

7. What is a pothole? What methods can be used to escape a pothole? Use partner assist to escape a pothole or to ascend a feature.

8. Teach a group from your club or church in techniques required for a basic canyon. Lead them on a trip.


9. Log 80 hours of canyoning experience. Keep accurate records of each trip.
