This conflict originated in heaven when a created being, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-exaltation became Satan, God’s adversary, and led into rebellion a portion of the angels. He introduced the spirit of rebellion into this world when he led Adam and Eve into sin.

Ce conflit éclata dans le ciel lorsqu'un être créé, doté de la liberté de choisir, devint, par une exaltation de sa personne, Satan, l'ennemi de Dieu, et entraîna dans sa révolte une partie des anges. Il introduisit un esprit de rébellion dans ce monde lorsqu'il incita Adam et Ève à pécher.
