The Trench Fire is a simple way to build a cooking fire. By digging a rectangular trench to build a fire in, you can rest a cooking grate, or a pot on the dirt on either side of the trench. If the shallow part of the trench faces the wind, air will be directred into the fire, making it burn hotly.

Trench Fire
