Overview

The aim of this honor is to give or reinstate basic personal safety awareness to our youth as they interact with adults and each other. We believe that in doing so, we are equipping them with key life skills and empowering them to know how to be safe and to be brave in seeking help if situations arise that make them feel unsafe. Our desire is that our youth thrive as they grow in personal journeys with Christ.

The Club will be running an honor that teaches youth:

  • The value God places on each of our children.
  • An understanding of what ‘personal safety’ means.
  • The importance of learning about personal safety.
  • An understanding of what situations are ‘unsafe’ or dangerous.
  • To consider what they would do if they felt that they were in danger or unsafe.
  • To nominate who their trusted persons are (who they would tell if they felt unsafe or in danger?).
  • Consider other supports available.

The Challenging Part

The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:

6. Other professionals or organizations for support and help.
