# Peel the onion and slice it into small pieces.
# Cut up the bell pepper, discarding the core and the seeds.
# Melt the butter in the Dutch Oven and sauté the onion and pepper until the onion is transparent.
# Add the water, beans, tomatoes, hamburger substitute, and chili powder and stir well.
# Cover, and place the Dutch Oven on a bed of coals, or suspend on a tripod over a campfire. There is no need to put coals on the lid.
# Heat for about 30 minutes, stirring often.
