Aridisol (from the Latin aridus, for “dry”) is a dry type of soil, very poor concentration of organic matter (In this case decomposed material, humus).
Aridisols are rich in sodium (K), which makes them an alkaline soil type.

Mainly found in the northwest of America, sparsely vegetated by plants very tolerant to a dry climate.
