When parents allow their children to join Pathfinders, they have certain expectations of what will go on at the meetings and outings. Staff must be constantly vigilant of anything that could threaten the safety of any Pathfinder, and must not be hesitant to intervene when boundaries are crossed. This however, deals only with physical safety.
Not only are the staff to keep the children safe at all times, they are also to serve as a Christian example. They are to provide spiritual leadership to those in their care. If the Pathfinder experience is not pointing the Pathfinder to Christ, the leaders are not executing their duties properly.
Remember this text from Matthew:
But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.
