Chemical Series of the Periodic Table
Alkali metals Alkaline earth metals Lanthanides Actinides Transition metals
Poor metals Metalloids Nonmetals Halogens Noble gases

State at standard temperature and pressure

  • those in red are gases
  • those in green are liquids
  • those in black are solid

Natural occurrence

  • those without borders have not been discovered/synthesized yet
  • those with dotted borders do not occur naturally (Synthetic elements)
  • those with dashed borders naturally arise from decay of other chemical elements
  • those with solid borders are older than the Earth (Primordial elements)
    • Note: Although californium (Cf) is not Earth-primordial, it (and its decay products) does occur naturally: its signature is a regular feature of supernovae spectra.
