1. Visit a water treatment plant, recycling plant, incinerator, or other resource conservation facility and report back to the club.
2. Visit a recycling center to see how waste is treated. Discover:
- How many tons of garbage are dumped each week? Every year?
- What is the use of sorting waste?
- How is some waste recycled?
- What is done with non-recyclable waste?
- How much does it cost per person and per year to collect and destroy garbage in your local municipality?
- What about toxic products and car wrecks?
3. Set up waste sorting at home and make compost if possible.
4. Create an artistic activity for your club with recovered objects.
