Overview
Pewter is an alloy that has a low melting point and can be shaped easily, making it ideal for casting. Because pewter is soft, it can easily be melted and used to create objects such as gifts, collectibles, novelty items, accessories, awards and even decorations.
This honor will teach you the basic fundamentals of casting pewter and the skills necessary to begin in the world of making your own items!
The Challenging Part
The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:
8. Complete the following:
- a. List the steps to casting molten metal.
- b. Demonstrate these steps by casting a pewter object.
