Hawaii became a state on the 21st of August 1959, the 50th state to join the Union. It is the only U.S. state located in Oceania and the only one made up entirely of islands.

The Hawaii state flower is the Pua Aloalo (Hawaiian Hibiscus).
b. State bird
The Hawaii state bird is the Nēnē (Hawaiian Goose) (Branta sandvicensis).

The Hawaii state tree is the Kukui (Candlenut) (Aleurites moluccana).
d. State animal
The Hawaii state mammal is the Hawaiian Monk Seal (Monachus schauinslandi).
e. State flag
