Food, notably by the French who call cooked snails escargot, but also in Spain, Philippines, Indonesia, Morocco, Nigeria, Algeria, Cameroon, Italy, Portugal, Greece, Belgium, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Cyprus, Ghana, Malta, Terai of Nepal, southwestern China, Northeast India states such as Manipur, Tripura and parts of the USA. Sometimes snails have been eaten in times of famine by people who do not normally eat them. Cooked snail is chewy. More details here.
