Overview

This honor takes your guitar skills to the next level by teaching you how to understand chords, read guitar music, tune accurately, play solos, and lead worship through music. You’ll build both technical ability and confidence as a guitarist. It develops you into a confident guitarist who understands music theory, can accompany singers, improvise solos, and use music to lead and support worship. By completing your 25-song book and performing for others, you’ll put your skills into real-world practice.

The Challenging Part

The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:

8. Create a personal song book of at least 25 hymns and spiritual songs with chords properly written. Play them as part of a song service or performance during a club meeting worship service, worship, or other group function.
