AY Honor Food Carving Requirements
1. Tell the history of food carving.
2. Where does the Bible encourage to eat fruits and vegetables? Show and read these two stories. (Genesis 1:29, Daniel 1:12-15)
3. What tools are used in food carving? Demonstrate that you can use these tools.
4. What safety rules should be followed when food carving?
5. Demonstrate eight different shapes or techniques for cutting vegetables and/or fruits.
6. What techniques exist in food carving and which are better suited for beginners? (To help you get oriented, there are the following techniques: line cutting, contour cutting. You can find others yourself.)
7. Give advice on how to choose vegetables or fruits for carving.
8. Where can you apply the knowledge and skills of food carving?
9. Make four crafts from vegetables or fruits with your own hands. (For example, make compositions with figures of swans, dolphins, etc. Also, remember the techniques and methods you learned earlier.)
10. Demonstrate your food carving skills during a Harvest Festival (or other event) at church.
