Overview
The purpose of this honor is not to teach Pathfinders their basic camping skills – it is to train them in how to recognize unsafe acts and conditions that can occur when camping. Pathfinders will learn to assess situations and make choices that keep them safe while allowing them to experience new things without unnecessary dangers. Risk management is about being smart, aware, and responsible.
The Challenging Part
The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:
18. Create a Risk Assessment using the template provided. Look for four dangers (risks) around you; or, if you prefer, use one of the images in the Theory Section to spot the four risks. We've completed one for you, as an example.
