Overview
The objectives of the Ukulele honor is to teach youth to:
- Learn the history and origin of the ukulele.
- Learn to care and tune a ukulele
- Learn five basic ukulele chords
- Understand how music can be a tool for spiritual encouragement and outreach.
- Build confidence to serve others through music ministry.
The Challenging Part
The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:
10. Participate in 3 musical outreach activities using the ukulele, such as:
- a. Leading worship in Sabbath School or Pathfinder worship.
- b. Playing for a children’s story or special music at church.
- c. Play for an outreach program such as a VBS.
- d. Visiting a nursing home or hospital and playing songs.
- e. Creating a simple music video with a spiritual message.
