AY Honor The Church Requirements
1. Know who established the Christian Church and what is its sole foundation. (Matthew 16:18; 1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:19-20)
2. Recognize to Whom the Church belongs. (Acts 20:28)
3. Understand why it is important for the Church to preserve and teach the truths about God. (1 Timothy 3:15; Matthew 28:19-20; John 17:17; 2 Timothy 4:2-4)
4. Explain why the Church is presented in the Bible as the body of Christ. (1 Corinthians 12:12, 27; Romans 12:4-5; Colossians 1:18)
5. Define the meaning of Jesus's words about the importance of unity among church members. (Matthew 18:19-20; John 17:20-21)
6. Memorize and recite Hebrews 10:25.
7. Share with a friend why it's important to attend worship services and be involved in church ministries. (Hebrews 10:24-25)
8. Interview your church's pastor or elder and submit the following answers to your instructor in writing:
- How are local church leaders appointed?
- What ministries does your church have?
- What is the church board?
- How does the church board function?
