La Adventist Review fue fundada por Jaime y Elena de White en julio de 1849 como The Present Truth [La verdad presente], pero el nombre fue cambiado a The Advent Review y luego a Second Advent Review and Sabbath Herald (con variaciones) después de combinarse con la publicación Advent Herald. El nombre fue cambiado a Adventist Review en 1978. A lo largo de su historia se le conoce comúnmente en español como Revista Adventista.
