System Unit or Central Processing Unit
The system unit is the part of a computer that contains the microprocessor, memory, and hardrive. It is the "main" component of a desktop computer system or a mainframe. All other devices (such as the monitor, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.) plug into it. It is sometimes also called the "Central Processing Unit," although that term is also used to describe the microprocessor.
