Argument against Same Sex Marriages
Same-sex marriage should not fundamentally be called a marriage. The natural purpose of marriage is to unite man and woman and involve them in creation and further education of children. The well-being and unity focused on the natural marriage can never be obtained by the same-sex marriages. The following essay argues that United States should pass a law that does not allow this type of marriages. To begin with, the same-sex marriages should not be allowed because the natural law does not permit this. The physical and biological needs of the spouses are not met in such marriages. Moreover, raising and giving birth to a child becomes a major challenge in the same-sex marriage. The child always has to live without one of the natural parents. Furthermore, marriage was not actually meant to be a relationship between any two human beings, rather it is a relationship between a man and woman governed by social and moral obligations. Same-sex marriage distracts from the natural law, originate the physical and biological issues in both partners. Such type of marriage violates the natural law of spiritual and bodily communion of a man and woman. Therefore, the same sex marriage is unnatural, self-destructive and immoral. Moreover, the moral and social values of the marriage institution suffer in such type of marriages. Clearly, the same-sex marriage promotes homosexual lifestyle, which is unnatural. There is high probability that the society once accepted the same-sex marriages would move forward towards multiple-partner marriages (termed as polygamy). This situation would continue to de-institutionalize the marital relationships. The group marriage would open doors to the new number of controversies, as people might get involved in the marriages of such types as “daddies with little girls” etc. The reason why marriage and sex have been too important in the society is the need of children, which is not fulfilled in the same-sex marriages. Even if the same-sex couple adopts the children, the situation for the child can never be as nurturing as in the natural family. Children cannot be raised in the same-sex marriage in the way similar to the natural marriage. They obtain the best possible care when they are raised by both of their natural parents, as difficulties and frustration has always been faced by the orphans, children with single parents or those with foster parents. The child raised in the same-sex marriage would always remain deprived of either his natural mother or father. Therefore, same-sex marriage is not suitable from the perspective of child’s interest. Numerous cases signify the abnormalities in life of the children who spent their years with one of the parents. For example, the children who live far from their fathers are likely to be involved in sexual activities or even pregnancies as soon as their teenage. Similarly, the children who have to live without their mothers are deprived of the emotional security. The rate of being unemployed or frustrated in the later life has been found to be higher for the children who lived with the same sex couples in contrast to the natural couples. To conclude, the paper proposed an argument against the same-sex marriages in the United States. The major supporting reasons were presented including the unnatural aspect of the same-sex marriage, the destruction of the institution of the marriage and the issues of raising children. Therefore, the United States should prohibit the same-sex marriage in all the states and should implement it strictly. Tony Logan is a talented writer at https://premiumqualityessays.com.
