The Masonry honor originally had a small black shovel with a brick background. Later, [[AY Honors/Vocational|Vocational]] category was completely retired and labeled as antique. During this time, the patches were produced with a gray background. This is the example seen here with Masonry. The Vocational category was brought back after a large outcry and the designs are now back to a red background. The shovel, however, was kept gray.

À l'origine, la distinction pour la maçonnerie comportait une petite pelle noire sur fond de briques. Plus tard, la catégorie Vocational a été complètement retirée et étiquetée comme antique. Pendant cette période, les écussons ont été produits avec un fond gris. C'est l'exemple que l'on voit ici avec la maçonnerie. La catégorie professionnel a été rétablie à la suite d'un tollé et les motifs sont maintenant de nouveau sur fond rouge. La pelle, en revanche, est restée grise.
