Do not build a fire within 6 meters20 feet of a tent. Sparks from the fire can easily travel that far and strike a tent, either burning a hole in it, or setting it ablaze. If it is occupied, this can be deadly. A fire should likewise not be built underneath trees as it is possible to ignite the tree's canopy. Stay clear of vehicles as well.
