The primary author of this chapter is Jim Thomas, who earned his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology (BSEET) at Murray State University in 1985, and earned his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) at Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1995. He has worked in the omputer/electronics industry since 1985, designing computer hardware and writing software for embedded digital signal processing applications.
At the time of writing this chapter, Jim was the deputy director of the Central New Hampshire Flames Pathfinder Club in Concord, NH. He and his wife Virginia have two sons and a daughter.
