During the time of King Saul's reign, Saul was determined to kill David. As a result, David fled to the wilderness where he was joined by a band of men. David demonstrated patience, cunning, and forgivness. He was willing to let the Lord place him on the throne in His own time rather than taking matters into his own hands.
