I'm trying to put the Sortable Lists for the different categories and skill levels, but I cannot get them to show. I'm not sure what I'm missing, whether it is that I need a translated page to link to or if I am not putting in the right arguments. How can I get the sortable list to show? --w126jep (talk) 13:43, 23 March 2015 (EDT)
- For the non-English honor_index template, you have to start with cat1 instead of cat2. cat1 is automatically set by the template (but you can override it). Its automatic setting suppresses all variants of an honor other than the "primary" copy. --Jomegat (talk) 16:00, 23 March 2015 (EDT)
- Thanks! I noticed you went ahead and changed them, but they still weren't showing up. After a bit of tweaking, I figured out that the list still didn't show up because it couldn't find the Skill Level category, since I had written it in Spanish. There are indeed Spanish pages for the different categories of honors but no Spanish pages for the skill level; they're still in English and I never really saw a need to need to translate category pages. The cat1 argument needed to be written in Spanish and the cat2 argument in English.
- Now I'm wondering if it would be easier for the future to have translated category pages so that the markup isn't mixed in different languages and I don't have to try and remember what needs to be in English and what need to be in Spanish ... --w126jep (talk) 00:33, 24 March 2015 (EDT)
Now I don't know how to get rid of secondary variant pages. For example, 3 pages of Soapcraft are showing up in the list, instead of the primary page. I'm not sure what was done in the English version to exclude secondary pages, but it doesn't seem to be the same for different languages. --w126jep (talk) 01:02, 24 March 2015 (EDT)
