1. Be at least 15 years old.
2. Have the Intermediate Swimming honor.
3. Be able to swim 50 feet (15 m) underwater.
4. Be able to swim and float continuously for 30 minutes, covering a minimum of 330 yards (300 m) in this time.
5. Satisfactorily pass a standard SCUBA diving course taught by a certified SCUBA diving instructor.
