Adventist youth will learn disability myths and misconceptions including the importance of advocacy and helping others.

The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:

a. Investigate ONE disability and write or orally present a report about this. Include:

• What is the cause?
• What are the symptoms?
• How does it impact a person's everyday life?
• What adjustments can be used to help?

b. Investigate the history of ONE assistive technology that helps people with a disability (examples Braille trail, sign language, service animals, wheelchairs, speech-to-text etc.) and write or orally present your findings. Include:

• Who invented it?
• When was it invented?
• Has it developed from its original design?
• What disability or disabilities does this technology assist with?
