Overview
William Tell may be able to shoot an apple off someone's head (in the legends) but by learning about archery and learning to shoot a bow and arrow effectively and safely you'll be able to take home an honor that will last much longer than a splintered apple!
The Challenging Part
The most challenging requirement of this honor is probably this:
8. Using a standard (Olympic bow) score one of the following:
- a. Indoors: 30 arrows (5 rounds) at 18 meters score 50 points on a 60 cm target.
- b. Outdoors: 30 arrows (5 rounds) at 25 meters score 170 points on a 122 cm target.
8. Using a standard (Olympic bow) score one of the following:
- a. Indoors: 30 arrows (5 rounds) at 9 meters (30 ft.) score 40 points on a 60 cm (23.62 in.) target.
- b. Outdoors: 30 arrows (5 rounds) at 15 meters (50 ft.) score 130 points on a 122 cm (48.03 in.) target.
